Sasquatch Co. Theatre
Sasquatch Theatre Co. is a live theatre company in Utah originally formed by Sam Allen and Samantha Miller, both of whom were students studying at Westminster College training respectively in Technical Theatre and Performance Theatre. The company was founded in an effort to produce work that typically is overlooked or even avoided in Utah. Specifically, Sasquatch Theatre Co.’s mission is to produce shows from diverse playwrights and with diverse casts (with a focus on women, people of color, and members of the lgbtq+ community) that speak to current issues in our society.
The premiere of Sasquatch Theatre Co. was at the 2019 Salt Lake Fringe Festival, with an original piece entitled Snapshot and another original piece entitled Jewel of the Colorado. From there, Sasquatch Theatre Co. completely independently produced a regional production of The Drowning Girls by Beth Graham, Charlie Tomlinson, and Daniela Vlaskalic. The team is continuing to create ways to produce theatre (even in a digital format) that will give voice to under-represented stories.
Sasquatch Theatre Co.’s mission is to employ students and professionals simultaneously in order to create pieces that have a fresh perspective but are top-quality. If you are interested in becoming a part of the team in any capacity, feel free to check out the “Get Involved” tab or send a message through the “Contact Information” tab.
